Overview

The binder is a contract between the MGA and the insurance company, who gives the capacity to start selling insurance policies and making insurance quotes.
In the system, firstly you have to create a master binder, then a child binder, and those child binders will have linked insurance products.

Binder List

To access binders, click Underwriting on the left sidebar and from the drop down menu select Binders.

In the new window you will see the list of master binders with the following columns:

Name Binder name.
Note: You can sort the list by binder in ascending or descending order, if you click on Name.
UMR Unique Market Reference (binder number).
Note: You can sort the list by number in ascending or descending order, if you click on UMR.
Product Product name, assigned to the binder.
Insurer Lead insurer name.
Tag Unique identifier of a binder, which is used for value mapping in schemas.
Status Binder status. Possible options:
  • Draft - master binder has just been created and the child binder is not activated yet.
  • Active - child binder is activated.
  • Expired - child binder is expired.
Underwriter Assigned underwriter.
